Hello Gemmies! It is almost time for the release of Children of Virtue & Vengeance and I can hardly stand it!!!! The stunning sequel to Children of Blood & Bone by Tomi Adeyemi comes out on December 3, 2019.

To celebrate, Tomi Adeyemi is kicking off her book tour in my old home town, The Bronx, NYC!!! Details for her U.S. book tour are listed below. Details on additional cities and dates are coming soon!

Children of Blood & Bone is one of my all time favorite books, and I cannot wait to read Children of Virtue & Vengeance! Are you excited to read COV&V? Let me know by leaving a comment below. Happy Reading!

Synopsis on Good Reads:

After battling the impossible, Zélie and Amari have finally succeeded in bringing magic back to the land of Orïsha. But the ritual was more powerful than they could’ve imagined, reigniting the powers of not only the maji, but of nobles with magic ancestry, too.

Now, Zélie struggles to unite the maji in an Orïsha where the enemy is just as powerful as they are. But when the monarchy and military unite to keep control of Orïsha, Zélie must fight to secure Amari's right to the throne and protect the new maji from the monarchy's wrath.

With civil war looming on the horizon, Zélie finds herself at a breaking point: she must discover a way to bring the kingdom together or watch as Orïsha tears itself apart.

Hi Gemmies! My name is Ursula and I make jewelry, love reading, am a diversity in books champion, and undercover unicorn. There are so many things that I am passionate about, but my love for reading started at an early age, when my parents taught me to read when I was just three years old.

Back then my favorite book was Jenny and the Cat Club. I was obsessed with the dancing cat named Alice Feather Legs. After my parents received a third call from the principal, that their daughter "borrowed" the book again, they decided they better take me to buy my own copy. That turned into a Saturday morning tradition, where I would be set loose in Barnes and Noble to pick up my next read. And trust me when I tell you, I read EVERYTHING.

My absolute favorite genre is Afro Futurism/SyFy/Fantasy. But, It wasn't until I was in my 30's that I actually found books featuring characters of color, written by authors of color. Reading Minion by the late L.A. Banks was a pivotal moment for me. I was amazed that I found an action packed book with magic, creatures, and a heroine that looked like me! It was a total game changer. I didn't realize how much I needed to read a book that had a main character I can relate to. I became obsessed with finding stories with diverse characters and sharing my finds with others.

I created this site to help spread awareness of these literary gems and help expend some of my creative energy. If I can turn just one person into an avid reader, it's worth it! This is a fun safe place to converse on all things bookish. You love yourself now love your shelf! Welcome to my site!
