Alien: River Of Pain Book Review

Hello Gemmies! I have a new audiobook review to share with you today. Alien: River Of Pain by Christopher Golden is a really good prequel story set in the Alien universe prior to the events in Aliens the movie. This is a wonderful audible dramatization complete with full cast narration and sound effects. Alien: River Of Pain takes place 57 years after the events in the first Alien movie and 20 years after the events of Alien: Out of The Shadows. It fits well into the main storyline, and is one I always wondered about. We find out more about the colonists lives on LV-426 and how they met their fates. This story is a little light on the action until close to the very end. It is more focused on character development and the human drama aspect of what happens when things go wrong and when people are the real monsters. This is a must read/listen for any fan of the series. The production quality is top notch and Laurel Lefkow narrating as Ripley was spot on, yet again! At only four hours and fifty two minutes long, this is a great way to escape for an afternoon. This is the second book in the Canonical Alien Trilogy and I will definitely continue on with the series.

If you are a fan of the Alien franchise, like monsters in space, science fiction horror, betrayal, and human drama give this book a try. Produced by Audible Ltd, and Directed by Dirk Maggs, Alien: River of Pain is available for purchase from Audible and all major booksellers. I give Alien: River of Pain 4 out of 5 gems. Happy Listening!
