January 2022 Reading Wrap Up

Hello Gemmies! Can you believe we are already one month into the new year? Time already seems to be flying by. I had a pretty decent reading month and enjoyed each of these titles. This month I set four goals for myself......

1. Read the Queens and Monsters Series by J.T. Geissinger

2. Put together and decorate a TBR Cart

3. Re-read House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas

4. Read a Vampy book

Goal One was easy because, I have a new series obsession, and it's the Queens and Monsters series by J.T. Geissinger. These books are sooo good! This is a mafia series, and each book is a perfect blend of action, humor, romance, and emotion. There are currently three books out and I was able to read all three. I kind of cheated a little and read book one on 12/31, but I won't tell if you won't! I absolutely love each book and we recently received some great news. Book Four.... Brutal Vows is coming out on June 1, 2022! Woo Hoo!

For my second goal I finally put together my TBR cart and have it full of books already! It will also came in handy for transporting books to my new library room! If you are looking for some cute bookish stickers to add to your own TBR cart check out Get Happy Decals on ETSY.

For my third goal, I re-read House of Earth and Blood to get ready for the release of book two, House of Sky and Breath on February 15th. I loved this book even more on the second read. To see my full thoughts on it, check out my updated review posted on 01/23.

My fourth goal is going to be a recurring one each month. I've decided that 2022 is going to be the year of the vamp. As such, I want to read at least one vampy tale each month. I have a huge collection of vampire books. There are also some classic vampire series that I'd like to work my way through as well.

For my overall reading experience, I had a pretty great start to the year. I really enjoyed everything I read this month with the exception of Monster From the Abyss by Michael Cole, this was a disappointing start to my creature feature reads.
