Hello Gemmies! Can you believe we are already seven months into the new year? Time is really flying by. I have been loving fantasy romance and have been going through different series like crazy! All of the books I read this month were very enjoyable with the exception of one. I actually had a DNF! Even with that one disappointment, I was able to read a total of 15 books/graphic novels in June.
For my overall reading experience, I had a pretty great time. Every title was at least 4 gems and up. I also started my reread (yes again) of the Dark in You Series by Suzanne Wright, which I absolutely love! This is in anticipation of the release of Hunted, the ninth book in the series which is coming in July. I also finally stated the Blood and Ash series and I absolutely LOVE it! Here is the full listing of all the books and manga that I read.
As I mentioned I did have one DNF and that is the Fevre Dream graphic novel by George RR Martin. Normally I try to push myself to finish books even if I'm not loving them, but I just couldn't do it with this one. And honestly, I need to get better about putting down books that I am not loving. Time is too short to read bad books. Now what put me off with Fevre Dream was all of the slavery and slave/master depictions. This is a vampire novel adaptation set in the South in 1857 so I can understand it being there, but I prefer not to read and see it on page. I'm here for a good time, and frankly I found it distasteful. The art style was good, but the overall story was pretty boring. So I decided to not finish this title.
