Hello Gemmies! I have a new book review to share with you today. Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo is a wonderful epic fantasy and the second book in the Shadow and Bone Trilogy. I recently decided to read this series and so far it has not been a disappointment.
Siege and Storm is another extremely well written character driven story. I love this world that Leigh Bardugo has created. This time we get to explore beyond Ravka and sail upon the true sea. Siege and Storm kicks off right where Shadow and Bone left off. We continue to follow Alina and Mal as they flee from the Darkling. Alina is still painfully naive and there were times that I wanted to root for the Darkling. I know, I know, I need to check my moral compass, but there is just something wickedly delicious about him, And Guys I really did not like Mal, I think I'm just about over him. The pacing in this book is also a bit slower than in Shadow and Bone but we have pirates and get introduced to some new characters, including my new favorite, Nikolai.
If you are a fan of intricate epic fantasies, pirates, unrequited love, and magic and mayhem then go read this book! This gem published by Henry Holt and Company is available for purchase from all major booksellers. I give Shadow and Bone 4 out of 5 gems. I cannot wait to read more stories set in this universe. Happy Reading!
