Undead Girl Gang Book Review

Hello Gemmies! I have a new book review to share with you today. Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson is a YA paranormal murder mystery. Man I didn't know how much I needed to read this book until after I read it! Undead Girl Gang is incredibly entertaining! I laughed, I cried, and enjoyed the entire journey this book took me on. This is a coming of age story that deals with grief, friendship, overcoming prejudices, saying goodbye, while unraveling a mystery in order to catch a killer.

Undead Girl Gang is an extremely well written character driven story with a diverse cast of characters that I found to be believable, dynamic, and relatable. I absolutely loved our main protagonist Mila Flores. She is super snarky, funny, sarcastic, strong, and.....a witch. Unable to deal with the grief of loosing her BFF Riley, Mila resurrects her from the dead. At the same time she accidentally resurrects two mean girls from their school who recently died. Mila believes they were all murdered. We join her on her journey to solve the murder, hide the undead girl gang, and figure out who she is and who she wants to be. The friendship between Mila and Riley is very sweet and very relatable. I loved that all of their interactions were not perfect. It helped to add to the authentic feel of the overall story.

Undead Girl Gang has extreme moments of humor, sadness, and sass. I also did not see the ending coming.....plot twist! It was the perfect summer read. If you are a fan of sarcastic protagonists, friendship, witches, undead BFF's, revenge and redemption stories, then read this book! Published by Razorbill, Undead Girl Gang is available for purchase from all major booksellers. I give Undead Girl Gang 4 out of 5 gems. Happy Reading!
